Exciting and busy 2015
Now near the end of March, 2015 has so far been a very busy year. On February 28 and March 1 the Goldfish and Beluga Whale provided loads of tactile fun to a sea of young children at Adelaide’s Writer’s Week. My wonderful story teller Greg Wood - dressed as “Vegetable Man” had the kiddies captivated with his stories. Two beautiful days.
Once again the Nylon Zoo appeared at Womadelaide March 6-9, this our 20 th year at this wonderful world music festival, one of the best in the world. My newly created Dung Beetle was on show, this even travelled to Naracoorte, SA for a show at Naracoorte Caves on Sunday March 8 so was a very busy weekend.
Ipswich Queensland and off to Hawaii
I travelled to Ipswich, Queensland last week (March 17) to install the huge climbing crocheted nylon webs at the Ipswich Art Gallery. These will be used by 500 + children per day for 2 months. They certainly well be well used!
In May I will heading off to Kauai, Hawaii to do workshops making 2 monk seals, these are an endangered species. Our dear friend Mark Jeffers, who owns and operates the Hawaii Story Book Theatre in Hanapepe, has commissioned me to create these seals. I will be taking along an old friend, the giant seal created over 25 years ago.
